off the clock

The stuff I do when I'm not shipping code. Most of it involves going somewhere high, going somewhere fast, or hitting something over a net.

pranav@uf ~/life $ cat alpine/summit.log

Alpine

What pulls me up there is the places. Glacier water so blue it looks fake, goats that couldn't care less that you showed up, a ridge turning pink at sunrise while the valley is still asleep. It's quiet up there in a way nothing else is, and everything gets simple: keep moving, watch the weather, look out for whoever's with you.

Alpinism is how I get more of that. Every trip asks a little more of me, and the ones that turn me around, like Adams, teach me the most. The long game is to become a good enough mountaineer for the hardest peaks in the world, Denali first.

Mount Siyeh

Glacier National Park, Montana · 2026 · fifth-highest peak in the park

From Cracker Lake its north face is one of the biggest walls in the Rockies: about 4,000 feet of banded rock straight down into turquoise glacial water.

Everything drawn to scale. Filled is summited, striped is attempted, dotted is next.

Court

Pickleball started with tennis. I played all through high school and captained the team my junior and senior years, and we won the district tournament three years running.

Now it's pickleball with friends: a smaller court, faster hands, a lot more trash talk.

I love racing and fast cars. Formula 1 is engineering at the limit: cars built to the thousandth, strategy decided in a few seconds over the radio. It's the same instinct that makes me care about a chart running at 240Hz. My driver is Lando.
